#16 - Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Best Moment: Playing Hard Mode and finally taking down Nemesis. He's an absolute bastard but drops very useful items!

We haven't had any Resident Evil titles hit the Top 50 yet, so Resi 3 narrowly misses out on the Top 15. Resi 3 for me was an incredible title, but by this point we had already seen the Resi formula done with Resi 1 and Resi 2. That being said, they did add some pretty good stuff in this game. I remember reading in the Official Playstation Magazine (oh those were the days) in the preview for the game about the zombies running and the idea really terrified me.

And of course, the main change, was Nemesis himself. Sure, we've had big monsters in the previous two Resi games, but Nemesis was a completely different kind of terror. Nemesis is tough as nails, and can take you out easily with his rocket launcher, or, if you're weak, he'll stick his tentacles down your throat, infecting and choking you to death. You can run away from him, but he'll chase you down. You can go through five doors and he'll run after you through each one. There's very little chance of escape. He's truly a terrifying and intense experience.

Resident Evil 3 is a great game, it's not my favourite in the series, not by some distance, but it's still a memorable experience and a stand-alone title for sure.
