#71: "Here it Goes Again" - OK Go
Release Date: 2006
Director: Trish Sie
Fun Fact:
The video is has no editing at all... but it did take them 17 attempts to perfect the video we see today!
YouTube is 10 years old now. Strange to believe but we've had this website for a decade, and it's transformed the internet, and in particular, music videos forever.
You could make a strong case arguement that this video was the true original "viral music video". Released a year after YouTube started, the video amassed over 50 million views, and was deleted, and re-uploaded, and it now has over 20 million views again. 70 million views is an insane number; sure, it's not close to the record of views as music videos can get now, but back when this video came out, there was probably very few videos on YouTube with more views.
And it's simple yet effective. The four band members of OK Go, dancing on treadmills. It's simple but it's just fantastic to watch. This video has transformed OK Go from a decent little rock band to a band who are now known for their elaborative music videos. And it's just a fantastic video, pure and simple.
